CERRO – Quercus cerris

Large tree with an upright habit and a powerful and deep tap root system. It can exceed 30 meters in height. It is the most widespread species of oak in Italy together with downy oak thanks to its adaptability to a multitude of pedoclimatic and environmental conditions.

It is the only native oak that is not attacked by oak powdery mildew. It adapts to the worst clayey soils and grows well both in the plains and in the hills and low mountains.
