HOLM OAK – Quercus ilex

A very long-lived tree, in a Mediterranean environment it takes on imposing dimensions. Great resistance to drought thanks to a deep and tap root system. Here, thanks to climate change, it is becoming spontaneous throughout the foothills and hilly area.

It often takes the form of a large shrub or multi-trunked tree. It is used more and more frequently in parks and gardens, also to form large hedges that are impenetrable to the eye.
